eFiling Mandate and San Francisco Superior Court
eFiling brings more efficiency and accuracy to the Court by eliminating scanning and reducing paper handling and storage and reducing errors. Parties represented by an attorney are mandated to eFile for many Civil case types. Case initiating documents (complaints) are still required to be physically filed in San Francisco Court Clerk’s Office, however the mandate applies to subsequent documents. The eFiling mandate rules govern the electronic filing and service of documents in Single Assignment, Complex cases, and all General Civil cases with the exception of Unlawful Detainer cases and Small Claims cases. Visit San Francisco Superior Court eFiling FAQ page for more information about the eFiling mandate.
